changed thermostat but still overheatinghocuz 06-19-2002, 07:23 PM i just changed out the thermostat but as i was driving to work this morning, the car started overheating again. it seems worse now because when i turned on the heater before, it would cool the engine down but that didnt help. do you suppose that the water pump is bad? please, help me. thanks boingo82 06-19-2002, 10:31 PM To my understanding, when a water pump goes, it leaks coolant everywhere, and tons of it too. You'd notice that. T4 Primera 06-20-2002, 03:31 AM First I'd check the system is bled properly. The SR20 is very sensitive to air in the cooling system. Find a good procedure from a FSM or on se-r.net and follow it. If the correct mix of corrosion inhibitor has been consistently used in the coolant then the waterpump should be alright. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
