Loud noise in front end like wheel bearing
mcrosby 01-30-2006, 04:39 AM I have a 2000 Alero 3.4L. It has always had a lot of road noise, but I attributed that to the sporty suspension like the Grand Am has. I recently rotated the tires and the noise from the driver side wheel is almost unbearable. I thought it was probably the tread on that tire, although the tire looks just like the one I rotated to the back. Yesterday the noise was significantly less. I remembered the Olds Calais I used to own did that and I ended up relacing the wheel hub/bearing assembly. Is this a common problem for this car? Thanks, Mike BNaylor 01-30-2006, 08:36 AM I have a 2000 Alero 3.4L. It has always had a lot of road noise, but I attributed that to the sporty suspension like the Grand Am has. When they go bad they'll make a moaning or clicking sound and most of the time nagging abs and trac off lights when the wheel sensor part goes bad. Replacement of the complete hub/bearing should fix it. vamc 02-02-2006, 08:18 PM I think i had the clicking sound with mine. I think that was at about 89,000mi or so, i could be wrong. I have now 134,200 i think. give or take 100mi or so. runs great. neilly7 02-03-2006, 06:19 PM Yes it is. I also had this clicking sound , after almost a month it seemed they found the problem, if clicking sounds like it is coming from the right front end, try checking starter drive I was diagnosed as starter drive loose/touches flexplate during right hand turns, after much frustration it has been fixed, goood luck :grinno: AutomotiveHelper.com, Copyright ©2013
