Tailgate removal Teile 01-27-2006, 06:03 PM
I have a 1993 isuzu rodeo and I need to know how to remove the tailgate? Does anyone know how I do this? directory 01-27-2006, 06:15 PM large sledge hammer LXA 01-27-2006, 07:02 PM Is the latch stuck and you can't open the tailgate at all? Does it have a tailgate release button? Or can you get it open and are just trying to take the whole thing off? LXA 01-27-2006, 07:38 PM Just took a quick look at mine. Other than the side hold-up cables, it looks like the tailgate is just bolted onto the truck body through the hinge. I didn't see any knock-out pins. Appeared to be about a 3/8" bolt (or whatever that translates into in mm). Looks like you can also remove it from the tailgate side of the hinge, but the bolts are of 2 different sizes. That might be easier to get to, but in either case I'd use a lot of WD40 or rust cutter of some kind. Teile 01-27-2006, 10:11 PM Thanks a bunch for the help I found the bolts that you where talking about and was able to get the tailgate off. I appriciate all the help you guys gave me. houndog52 02-04-2006, 03:57 PM Where do you check transmission fluid at since there is no dip stick and how do you add the fluid if you change the filter in a 2000 isuzu rodeo???
