98 prizm when she drives it and goes to slow down it seems as though the brakes stick and the car comes to a stop evan after you let off thr brake pedal and the car will not move and the brake pedal is very hard you cant evan move it. if it sits a while the pedal returns back to normal and she can move the car. anyone have any ideas? could it be something with the abs? there are no check engine light or abs light on

Sticking brake caliper, or corroded caliper slide pins. Get it taken care of ASAP..before it cost you an arm and a leg, the heat will damage the hub, rotor or tire.

Doesthe car pull to the left or right? If not it may be a bad master cylender

ill check the slide pins and no it dosent pull to either side it just slows down and stops and once it stops the car will not move, and the brake pedal is hard as a rock.

If The Pedel Is Very Hard To Push Its A Bad Brake Booster

the pedal is only hard when the brakes are stuck.

You may be right. It could be the booster is not releasing. check to see if the pedal releases with the engine running and the vacuume line disconected.

is the parking brake releasing? [check it while in motion]
