low gas mileage in 95 civicvbcamry 01-23-2006, 11:07 PM I have recently purchased a 95 civic dx and was hoping to be getting gas mileage in the mid-upper 30's. I checked the mileage for the first time and I only got about 26(all city). Any ideas or suggestions that might be a good place to start in increasing my mileage? The car is in very good shape and the previous owner was very particular about his car. Just looking for some tips. Thanks MunG35 03-03-2006, 02:41 AM oil change... my gas mileage sway a lot depending on the weather and fuel blend... but 36 sounds decent all city... are u stick or auto? clawhammer 03-03-2006, 08:08 AM Try driving all highway. Then you can get mid to upper 30s. Also, drive longer distances so the motor doesn't have to warm up after every 10 miles. Accelerate slower. Do a tune-up. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
