I have a '98 Chevy express 1500 with the 5.7 vortec engine. I put a Jacob's ignition on it and did a complete tune up with cap, wires, rotor and plugs. I used the oem recommended platinum AC Delco plugs. Now my cap/rotor failed to the extent that the van would not even run. I'm wondering if I should dump the platinums and put in regular copper core spark plugs. Does anyone know what plugs would fit?

Might want to use a aftermarket cap and rotor with bronze terminals as the stock cap and rotor was not meant to handle the 65k + volts of power the jacobs system is making.

Yeah, I used a brass cap/rotor. This isn't my first Jacob's system. But I have never had any problems before. That is why I think it is the platinum plugs. I called Jacob's when I ordered the system and the customer service guy said that he thought the platinum plugs would be OK. I now think he was full of sh*t!!:banghead:

Jacob's wrote back on my enquiry and said that they recommend Accel copper spark plugs. I will get some and better wires. Maybe that will work.
