My 1990 Grand Caravan doesn't start!!Guxt 06-16-2002, 03:38 PM I was not having any problems until now. I changed the battery, because at Autopart Store they told me that it was dead. But with the new battery I have the same problem. I can start my Caravan, and then , four blocks and it stop again. I tried to restart it and it dies completely!! No lights, no radio, nothing. I wait, I restart and one block, it dies again. Someone told me that ir could be the alternator, but I don't where is!! yale329 11-14-2003, 09:14 AM Be smart, don't be like most including myself unless you have a lot of time and want to waste money. Clean and tighten your battery cables. First test your horn when it will not start or when you loose total power. Also you should have a alternator gauge. Check to see if your charging. A long shot on the 1990, wiggle your ignition key while it's running. You have a short somewhere in your ignition system. I don't think it is your alternator. Find a good local Pop-shop and have it scanned for about $40.oo. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
