D16Z6 In to 92 Cx Hatchbigwally9876 01-21-2006, 03:13 PM i have a 92 cx hatch, that i wanna drop a d16z6 into it. I've done searches but not really found much info on the wiring. So my question is what do i do about the wiring? i know i need a p28 ecu for the z6 but how the hel do i wire it and the vtec....Such a noob question i know but i am trying to do it my self. Can i use the cx harness? XhaloZ 01-21-2006, 10:22 PM First off why a D16Z6? Second off you need to ground your motor and wire your vtec solenoid (comes with motor) to the p28 ecu since your hatch doesn't include that wire in the stock harness and then you should be set to go my friend. And you should be able to do it with the CX Harness... I would go to the engine swap forums and check to see if you gotta cross any wires or anything. CivicSpoon 01-21-2006, 11:40 PM Your shock tower harness (the section from the shock tower thru the firewall to the ECU) is already prewired for vtec. For some reason Honda decided to do with with all '92 models, even for the ones who don't have a vtec engine (like your CX). So all you have to do is match up the wires from the engine to the correct ones already at the shock tower plug. Here's a pic of where the wires meet: http://www.ff-squad.com/tech/wiring/obd1.shocktowerplug.jpg bigwally9876 01-22-2006, 01:37 AM Your shock tower harness (the section from the shock tower thru the firewall to the ECU) is already prewired for vtec. Here's how to convert from the stock 1-wire O2 to a regular 4-wire O2 (which you'll need to buy): http://www.hybridautomotive.com/tech/o2/#one vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
