Hello,

I bought a 1995 a year ago. I'm putting in 2-5 liters in between each oil change.

My car does not smoke blue and I've had it looked at a few times, they can't find any leaks. The one mechanic didn't charge me for looking at it because he felt bad he couldn't find anything.

There is never any spots under where I park the car.

Has anybody had oil burning mysteriously? Thanks.

Welcome to AF! If you are losing that much oil between oil changes you must have a leak somewhere. I would check the mounting surface around the oil filter and see if it is in good shape. Also check the oil pressure sending unit above the oil filter. Sometimes the car will leak oil from these areas and you will not see anything unless the engine is running. Also look for telltail signs under the car you may see oil tracks from the oil blowing back. Finally, if you were actually burning this much oil you would certainly see blue smoke. Good Luck!!!

check your oil cap. if it has a milkshake-like residue on it, it's most likely a bad intake gasket.

if not, i'd say it's the oil pump drive seal. also a common problem on the 60 dergree v6s. if you do it yourself, the drive seal will cost you less than 5 bucks to replace

it's kind of tough sometimes. i used a big pair of vice grips clamped gently down on the housing and rocked it back and forth while pulling upwards until it came loose

Thank you. It worked by using a bigger pliers. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Can you help me again? In the process of replacing that ring I had to take off the pipe/tube that runs from the pcv valve to the upper intake manifold, by the throttle body, then this pipe continues to the firewall side of the motor. I can't find anything that it connects to. Does it connect to anything or does it just vents? Thank you again for your help

It may plug into the rear valve cover.
