v8 difference between mustang and tbird

can anyone tell me what ford did to tune down the mustang v8 when they put it in the tbird and what can i do to get that power back. is it software, or pulley?

I believe the extra 10 horsepower & 5 lb.ft. of torque, that the Mustangs had,
were the result of better exhaust & slightly more aggressive tuning.

A good computer chip (software) will get you close to 10 additional horsepower.
