THinking alarmrock0134 01-18-2006, 11:33 AM i am looking at getting a good alarm and i need to know what kind is best for a few hundred and whetehr or not i should have it installed professionally so i dont fuck it up... thanks Shpyder 01-18-2006, 12:58 PM The best choice would be a Viper 791 XV. It's Viper's top of the line, with an LCD pager. I recommend additional prox sensor and motion sensor modules to compliment the alarm. I've had mine for a year now, works great, goes off if you even look at it funny. AbsoluteGTR 01-18-2006, 02:55 PM GET IT DONE PROFESSIONALLY!! Do not try to do it yourself! I tried and it took me like a month. But then again, if you get a viper or whatever they are usually installed at the place where you buy them for free (well, at least the purchase price covers that cost!) rock0134 01-18-2006, 07:56 PM I found some of the viper alarms on ebay.. does anyone have another brand of alarm or anything that they got for a good price that works good? If the alarm has remote start, is that a problem with a manual transmission? I found this one http://www.slickcar.com/productdetails.asp?ProductID=3725 Looks good with the pager and everything.. can you buy an alarm online and then have somewhere install it for you so you dont fuck it up??? l_eclipse_l 01-18-2006, 08:14 PM I have heard good things about CompuStar. rock0134 01-23-2006, 05:32 PM but about the remote start and a manual transmisssion?? xavier3jr 01-23-2006, 05:43 PM no u cant remote start a manuel Shpyder 01-23-2006, 09:19 PM no u cant remote start a manuel Yes, you can remote start manual. You bypass the clutch, which may be illegal in some states. Ofcourse, you better remember to leave the car in neutral... Nayr747 01-23-2006, 10:55 PM If you do a search I posted a link to a site that has alarms with all the features of the Viper but at hundreds less (around $150). The site has live support, diagrams, and every part you need to easily install it yourself. But if you've got lots of $ and no time then I'd definitely go the the 791xv.
