Temp of Oil from turbo to pan....MexRocket 01-15-2006, 11:49 AM :screwy: What is the tempeture of the oil from the turbo to the pan? would a coolant line or a tranny line be able to sustaine the heat for like a month??? I just need a fast fix right now for a job interview on tues.... and a after the paycheck comes in.... im getting a new turbo anyone with loemans return line.... i was just wondering if that is a good/safe idea for something that i need to last roughly a month????? :banghead: Thanks ez1286 01-15-2006, 05:48 PM I'd say it's somewhere between -475 and 3000 degrees. BTW What the fuck are the bears doing!?!?!?!? SLoe 01-15-2006, 07:19 PM This is really ghetto, but it might get you by. Cut out the flex section of your return (that's where it is leaking right?) Then go get some heater hose or some other high temp line, some hose clamps and patch that bitch up till I finish your new one. ez1286 01-15-2006, 07:39 PM Thats what I told him but aaron listens to the guy at napa over me... 1stGenRocks 01-15-2006, 09:42 PM i wouldnt trust regular heater hose. if you can get the high temp silicone hose thats made for exhaust air pumps going into the catalytic converter. ive seen some that are 5/8 and thatr should be big enough. definately put it on and run it in the garage for a while and watch it. then take it for a short run and boost it and recheck it right away. you can dump a lot of oil reall;y quick if that line fails. kjewer1 01-15-2006, 10:35 PM On the evo the oil in the pan runs at 50-70c IIRC, or about 120 to 160F. That's cooler than coolant, so I would be inclined to think regular heater hose would work. But, you never know. Edit> The EVO also has an air to oil cooler. The DSms with the coolant to oil cooler might see oil temps closer to that of the coolant. MexRocket 01-16-2006, 02:14 AM bah i think im going to just wait for loeman to finish it up.... i don't want to keep RTVing shit... so just let me know loeman SLoe 01-16-2006, 05:57 AM bah i think im going to just wait for loeman to finish it up.... i don't want to keep RTVing shit... so just let me know loeman  vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
