Econoline 150 won't start!!!

My van has been sitting for awhile and i can't start it...it doesn't turn over but makes a clicking sound...i've charged my battery and even put cables on it.. Ahhhh Nothing!!! can someone please help me and give me some ideas of what could be wrong?...do i need to replace the battery with a bigger one ect,,,THANKS

Clicking sound... I would imagine that the clicking is probably the starter solenoid engaging the starter but the starter motor isn't working.

Others here will probably reply with more information, but that's my guess.

Try replacing the solenoid ( it's on the fire wall right by the battery) about $10.00. If that doesn't do it pull your starter and have it checked. It wouldn't hurt to have your battery checked too.Most auto parts stores will check them for free. Check the battery first, it may have a bad cell!
