Friend can't drive his LS1 worth shit, help! OneQuick6 08-06-2001, 10:04 AM
Whats up. I'm from 3si I have a VR4 but thats not the issue... I'm constantly arguing with a buddy of mine who has an LS1, this shmuck can't drive worth shit...its an 01 completely stock, @ sealever. He can't break 13.5's in this car, its b/c he tachs up so high, spins too much, and shifts around 500rpms early, I've been in the car with him when he races people... This moron cannot drive this car, and he won't let me drive it to prove him wrong, so I told him I'd post in a Camaro/TransAm forum and they all would reply, Yes your car can do 13.2's stock sometimes in the 12's so he will believe me and let me show him how to drive so it doesn't go to waste... Thanks automag928 08-22-2001, 11:45 PM He should be able to break high high 12's... You have to launch around 18 or 1900 rpms, anything more on stock tires and you basically sit and spin. :) Chris 10-27-2001, 06:34 PM 13.5 isnt too bad. It is about what all the magazines get. TanRchy 10-30-2001, 11:40 PM hey id take 13.5 in that car. but he can get a much better time. slap on some E.T. streets or some BFG drag radials and you easily see 12's. even with his lack of driving skills. z28pwr 11-24-2001, 03:24 AM When Stock I used to shift from 1 st to second at 5500 to get more Torque down then all the other shifts @ 6000 if you look at a bone stock dyno you aren't producing much power after 5800 RPMS therefore there is no need for you to go up to 6250 were you hit the rev limiter and cause the computer to pull timing. If I were him I'd spend $200 bucks in an air lid and exhaust which will give him an extra 20 RWHP. daveshapellSVT 02-18-2004, 09:28 PM 13.5 sounds pretty decent... high 12's is just not possible with a bone stock F-body... So i'd say he is driving pretty good actually.. My cousin has a 2001 firehawk and he runs 13.5 also so... Hypsi87 02-18-2004, 10:30 PM 13.5 all stock..... sounds good to me. he won't hit 12's staying just completly stock. Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
