Getting the dealership to fix intake for free? Keystone742 01-14-2006, 09:38 AM
Has anyone been able to get a dealership to fix a leaking intake or head gasket for free? My 2000 Venture has less than 80,000 miles on it and it was suggested that they might do for nothing. If so, could you pass on any tips? Thanks. shogunl 01-15-2006, 09:24 AM Generally if you got over 60,000 miles you are out of luck. Having said that I think lot depends on the dealer. Give them a shot and see what they say. base11 01-21-2006, 07:04 PM HI At about 73,000 kms., GM paid for half. The dealer wont do a thing and are useless. They are really a separate entity from GM the manufacturer. You have to call GM head office. THey have something called goodwill. Its a fine line between being a real arrogant pain and getting what you want. e.g. this is my third GM vehicle and I was surprised and disapointed to have this problem and learn that every 2.4 engine built in the last 5 years has had this problem also. Good luck. Between you and me, GM better start offering 5 years 100,000 kms warranties or they will be out of business. base11 01-21-2006, 07:05 PM Make that a 3.4 sized engine, and a few others.
