We, my father and myself, recnetly rebuilt the engine in my 95' Monte Carlo Z34 (3.4L). Things were ok for about 1 - 2 weeks. After that I started having problems with burning oil. It does it on start up and every time I take off. By burning oil I do mean clearing one square mile due to smoke nasty fog!!!!!! It is very bad. We've done all the basics, checked and tested all the vaccum lines that we know of. We made sure the intake gaskets are solid and positioned corretly. Just had all the valve guide seals and valves redone/replaced. We of caourse did the ole' spray stgarting fluid trick in random vaccum line areas to see if the idle picks up. And still nothing. We are at a TERRIBLE loss and any help for be very much appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by "how well the heads were done". The head gaskets were definetley seated good and the valve seats were replaced.

Did you use chrome moly rings?

No we didn't. I don't remember what the rings were exactly, but that question was already asked and that's not what we used. We've already been told that they were a bad choice.

Well, not a bad choice, but it takes some serious HEAT to get 'em seated good. When it started smoking, was it an "all at once smoked like hell" or slowly got worse? Whats your oil pressure?
