93 Bonneville SE.. totalled?

Long story short, some guy ran a red light and hit my front passenger side. He took out the headlight, shifted the hood a lot and front end slightly.

Insurance said it was totalled, and since I was not at fault, so graciously left me with the car. They took out $150 salvage value and the junkyards are only offering me $65.

Any ideas on how to get rid of it otherwise? I've never been in this situation and I was thinking my best bet would be to part it out. It has 176k miles so I doubt anyone would take it in a fix it up.

In 2005, I put in a new starter, new rear struts, and a new alternator. Everything still works - a/c, heat, leather seats, etc. New tires in 2004.

Any ideas?

you might be able to replace the fender and hood...

is it still driveable?

Yep, well I drove it home from the accident at least. There are a couple of leaks though.

I was in the process of buying a new car anyway, so I don't really want to put any money into it - I just want to get rid of it. I think I'm going to donate it and take the tax write-off.

If the accident wasn't your fault, and your car was totalled. why wasn't you paid the value(before the accident)of your car? I had a car that was stolen, and totalled. And my insurance co. paid me the value of my car.

I was - insurance gave me $1600 for it, but the car would've been worth more if I had sold it, so I feel a little screwed. They paid me PLUS left me with the car.

I ended up donating it to the Kars4Kids charity. I'll get a $500 tax deduction and a free vacation. Not too bad I guess..
