Water leak '92 Ultra

My sorta new Ultra (bought it last September in the dry season) has a water leak somwhere in the drivers side body. There is no sunroof. Water collects under the drivers seat and moves to the drivers side rear passenger foot well. There is no water under the drivers foot well. It gets wet regardless of whether the car is moving. I have removed the left side post decorative cover and cannot locate a water track anywhere inside the post. I have also pulled the weather strip around both driver side door openings and filled the center track with 3M weatherstrip adhesive, and the weatherstrips seem to be held tight all the way around and are in good shape. I did not see any water tracks leaving the weatherstrip area when I did this. It still leaks badly, and I am wearing out the shop vac trying to keep water damage out of the car. To be fair to the seller, I don't see any long term water damage under the rug, but the metal brackets for the interior trim are starting to rust.

Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions? I can't even find a body shop around here that will work on water leaks. Thanks for your help.

This is what I'd do if it was my car. You also said in your thread that it leaks reguardless of whether the car is moving or not, so in that case here's my suggestion!

I'd pull my front seat and the back seat out of the car, remove the molding, (decorative post cover), holding the carpet in place both front and rear, then removing as much molding on the drivers side as I can up towards the roof, then I'd pull the carpet back as far as I could, dry any wet areas. I'd make sure I have no holes in the floor board and the rubber seals are in place. If that's all good then with all the windows up and doors closed I'd get inside with a flashlight and watch for any signs of leaks while my wife hoses the car down for me. If I didn't find a leak , I'd try higher water pressure.

If the water is coming in your car that easy you should be able to find something. Just cause the back drivers area is getting wet don't assume the leak is coming from just that area, it could be coming from your firewall, or your windshield/roof trim.

One more thing. I would adjust my drivers seat all the way up, there's better access to the bolts holding it down, then I'd disconnect the negative battery cable. The are a lot of wires that go down the footwell, some supply power to the seats. Getting these wet could cause problems! Good luck! Cntrysthbst
