I did this about a year ago - it was a cold day and while filling, I barely bumped the door while it was open and it cracked off. The problem is the safety rod that hooks to the door. When the gas door is open, it keeps the sliding door from opening and moving back. So if it's broken off in the open position, you may have noticed the left sliding door will not open.

I removed and reinstalled a LKQ door that was the same color (no paint needed), but I did not drop the left rear splash shield in order to be able to get the safety rod in place. I just make sure if the kids are in the car, they know not to slide the door open while filling.

It works fine like this and is not really hard to install - trying to get the rod in without dropping the splash shield is another issue - there's just not enough room, fingers, etc to get it installed.

My gas door hinge broke also. I took off the 3 screws that attach the gas line, but i cant figure out how to remove the hinge assembly. Is this just pressed in? Can I just replace the hinge? Any information will be helpful- Thanks
