Jammed sliding door locguitarde 01-08-2006, 10:33 AM Hi, I have a 1999 Windstar LX, the sliding door on the driver side is jammed. This is a manual door, it opens about 1 inche and is blocked. Seems like the lock on the rear of the door is jammed. What is the best wat to fix this ? Thanks for your help. Eric frostie 01-08-2006, 01:55 PM Have you checked the gas filler door? It is interlocked so that the door cannot open when the filler door is open. guitarde 01-09-2006, 01:51 PM Have you checked the gas filler door? It is interlocked so that the door cannot open when the filler door is open. This sounds like a better cause since the door opens by about 1 inche, if the lock allow the door to open like that it could be dangerous. The fille door is closed correctly, maybe there is a problem with the mechanism and this block the door. Do this block the door on the back railing ? Where /how can I see this interlocked mechanism ? Thanks again Eric - frostie 01-10-2006, 05:58 PM IIRC, if you look on the body between the fuel filler door and the opening for the sliding door. You will see a latch. Peel back the rubber weatherstripping and you should be able to see inside. The latch might just be stuck. Good luck. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
