Somehow, some milk got spilled on the front passengers side of our Trailblazer last weekend and apparently it has gotten under the plastic step/trim inside the door. We need to remove the plastic piece to clean under it and get rid of the awful smell. I inspected it and found no screws holding it in place. I pulled upward on the piece and it moved a bit but I was afraid to pull anymore because I didn't want to break anything.

Does anyone know the proper technique for removing this piece so I can clean under there? I am referring specifically to the front passenger plastic on the floor just inside the door that runs along the door and curves up under the dash.

Thanks in advance.

Josh

Just continue to lift and pull in towards the foot well... they are held in by clips. Also check for a round disk (pop this off first) it should be up under the dash on this piece. It is a plastic rivet piece.

blulytes is right, except at least on my 02 TB to remove the passenger's side door trim, I have to remove the lower panel on the dash on that side. 2 7mm bolts hold it into place, then you can get the screwdriver and pop the plastic rivet piece. Also, use a screwdriver for the first time or so to remove the door trim as it will be tight.
