How to remove back board thats around the 6x9's?? brots06 01-06-2006, 12:30 PM
I have a kicker solo x in the trunk with an ungodly amount of bass pounding on that board and it rattles. How can i take it off and stuff it with foam or put a rubber seal around the outside of it? Ive tryed to take it off but theres no screws or anything and it seems to be in there pretty good. brots06 01-06-2006, 10:13 PM bump Gir-_- 01-07-2006, 03:32 AM Good Question, tommy00gt1 01-07-2006, 10:52 AM I hope somebody will reply, because mine rattles too...it drives me nuts, lol.... I gotta find out how to stuff some foam rubber in there.... Tommy brots06 01-07-2006, 12:58 PM i had to pretty good size foam blocks that i ripped up and stuffed underneath there which worked for awhile but now its starting to rattle more because in the winter when everythings cold it ALL rattles. tommy00gt1 01-07-2006, 01:39 PM Exactly brots... It's cold here in Massachusetts, and I just noticed the rattling a few days ago. Never had it before, so the cold must do something to the plastic somewhere. It almost sounds like a vinyl / plastic rubbing on that rear deck, but I don't know how to reach it.... from inside the car by the rear window; or in the trunk ??? Tommy brots06 01-07-2006, 02:26 PM When i put the foam in mine i removed the 6x9 speaker covers and stuck pieces in through those holes. If any one knows how to completely remove the back board please let me know. 1993GAG.T. 01-14-2006, 12:23 AM When i put the foam in mine i removed the 6x9 speaker covers and stuck pieces in through those holes. If any one knows how to completely remove the back board please let me know. what you all need to do is remove the back seat.. to to that their are three clips that are through the back firewall..... then their are two pieces of trim along the top of the back door....(four door) remove that by takin out the screws... then the back panal just pops off and you can remove the 6x9s er just stuff foam around it... i have 4 12 kicker cvrs in ma trunk and this solved the rattle boug0752 01-14-2006, 08:58 AM Okay, listen closely as this is very difficult at times. Fold the seat down, take out the plastic piece right above the trunk to cabin opening (should be like 4 plastic push pin like things), then bend it in the middle and pull like crap. Just becareful of the edges as they can and will guoge the side panels. My friend always took off the side panels first then the trunk panel just pulls right out. The hardest part of the whole deal is to put it back in. Good luck everyone!!! tommy00gt1 01-14-2006, 10:19 AM That's good info; thanks very much. That damn rattling is driving me nuts.... I already have some foam rubber stuff, so once I remove that rear panel I'll foam the heck out of it. Thanks again friends...
