Faulty Radio/Interference

I have an intermittent buzzing sound which I believe comes from the front left Radio speaker, (it could be something vibrating close to the speaker). This only happens when the headlights are turned on, and even then only intermittently. However it's a real pain as it is not really possible to listen to the radio with the noise in the background. Sometimes it's possible to power off then on the radio and it goes away, other times this does not work.
Any ideas?

I did not think to add that it's a 2000 LXI AWD model
