I have a 2005 ram 1500 with the upgraded infinity sound system consisting of 6cd indash player, seven speakers and amplifier. I am upgrading the in dash 6 cd player to a panasonic in dash dvd player. the problem I have is there is no sound. I purchased a "metra" wiring harness to attach to the panasonic and then plug into my factory wire harness. I noticed on the factory harness there is no "blue" wire (remote turn on?) but when i plug the metra harness in - it has a blue wire (which i have connected to the blue remote amp wire on panasonic)
the spot on the other side of the metra harness -factory harness side is empty.
there is however a white wire with blue stripe on the factory harness that is not going to a spot on the metra harness tied into the panasonic. does anyone know what this white/blue stripe wire is for? could this be the amp remote turn on wire?
also I have been told by someone it sounds like the factory Amp is not turning on.
Any information is greatly apreciated

yes, it is a white wire with a violet stripe. i was told the amp is digital. I have been in touch with a dealer and at least 5 stereo shops and each time i get a different answer/ or they don't know. one shop even stated i have to rewire everything! does anyone know how to get the amp to turn on with a aftermarket deck???
