My starter is going out. How hard is it to replace, is it easy to get to?

yep it is pretty easy to get to but why replace a 200.00 starter when you can repair it my guess it is going click click a few times and starting !

for about 20 bucks on e-bay you can buy a contact kit
remove the starter ! remove the triangle plate on the bottom rear of the starter a plunger will pop out ! look inside you will see 2 copper contacts
unbolt them install the new ones replace the plunger and cover and reinstall the starter and you should be on the road again

Yes Moneymaker is right on about the starter contacts. Real easy job. I got a set from a shop in town that rebuilds starters and alternaters, I think they were only about five or ten bucks . Do not go to a dealer, they will tell you that is no repair and try to sell you a complete starter.....Hope this helps....good luck with it...............
