misfire and running rich????? plz helpbalzach010 01-04-2006, 09:20 PM for the past few months me and my brother have been stumped with this car.the car is a 98 neon acr with the DOHC motor the mods to the car are as follows. iceman CAI, af/x longtube header, 2.5 " mandrel bent exhaust, hi-flo cat, 55mm throttle body, indy intake manifold, crane #12s, p&p head, mopar performance computer, solid mounts, mp/x underdrive pulley, crane firewire plug wires, msd ignition pack. anyways the symptoms are random misfires every 2-3 weeks. i then reset the computer then after that time period it starts again. ive replaced the plug numerous times with the stock champions. the car jsut dont seem to be what it should be for having those mods. the car runs very very rich. i get a bout 200 miles a tank on 93 octane.the person that had the car before me ran a best of 14.5 with all those mods. the best i can get out of the car is a 15.7?!?! i personally knew the guy and personally helped him with it numerous times so i know that he didnt rip me off. were so stumped with this. any help would greatly be appreciated!!!! das2123 01-05-2006, 09:24 AM msd ignition packAre you retarding the timing or anything like that? Instead of the stock champions, tyr running some NGK copper plugs. Sometimes the neon will run better with those in there. You have quite a few mods done, so the stockers may not be the best for you. Have you checked your 02 sensors? balzach010 01-08-2006, 03:45 AM Are you retarding the timing or anything like that? Instead of the stock champions, tyr running some NGK copper plugs. Have you checked your 02 sensors? yeah everything is brand new.. were so stumped with this car?!?! weve tried ngks but they seem to have the same result. you think an apexi super afc would be a good investment. thats my next option? das2123 01-08-2006, 08:01 PM you think an apexi super afc would be a good investmentYou could control the fuel rich problem you are experiencing then. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
