1989 TBird v6 3.8
whenever its cold and wet outside, and my Bird is sitting for a few hours or so, the doors and the trunk get frozen, and can not be opened. well, the trunk i can open pretty easily actually but the doors i have to use de-icer spray to get them open. is there anyway to prevent this from happening????
thanks.....

If you have a place to park out of the wet, that will help, otherwise I don't see any way of preventing it.

i was afraid of that. i dont have a garage to park my car. i was thinking about a car cover, but i'm not sure if that would work. looks like im stuck with the de-icer. it works pretty good and doesnt harm the the paint.
its just funny, because none of my other cars have ever had that problem....

Just a thought, but have you tried a couple coats of wax to the areas that are icing up? Worth a shot, IMO.

Try spray silcone on the weatherstrips,
make sure you spray the one on the bottom of the doors
or it will rip off when frozen on the body.

Tire Shine is what I use.
Or, if handy, good ol' WD-40.
And guess what the "WD" stands for?.........
"Water Displacement".
