when i press the button to get the washer fluid to clear my windshield, only the wipers work, no washer fluid comes out..... i checked the fuses and they all seem to be fine, and the wipers work fine. the line coming from the pump doesnt appear to have any leaks. i believe the washer fluid pump may have gone on me. just wanted to get another opinon on this before i go out and spend $$$ on a part i may not need.....

this is for a 1989 TBird, standard 3.8 v6.....

thanks all...

Check the voltage at the pump connector, with someone holding the washers on. If you have voltage and can hear the pump whirr, check the screen on the pickup and clean it. If you have voltage but no whirr, replace the pump. If you dont have voltage, check the wiring and switch, the contacts in the switch tend to get carboned up over time.

i know its been awhile since ive posted this problem, but i just got around to troubleshooting it. as it turns out overl0rd, you were right about the contact being dirty. i used some electrical contact cleaning spray and the pump worked just fine. as it turns out i had to replace the old pump anyway due to a leak coming from that rubber piece that plugs into the reservoir. thanks again overl0rd. its time to move on to the next problem.....................
