I own a 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and for about the last year we have been experiencing trouble with the electrical in the car. I have to replace the turn signals every couple of months and other little quirky things like the dome light working sparatically.

Now I have problems with the dash lights constantly jumping or flickering. If I press the power window button to roll the window down the headlights dim. Sometimes when I press down on the break I almost lose all power to the car. Everything dims! The radio does not seem to be affected but everything else does. The car acts like it is going to die unless I give it gas. This problem is just continuing to get worse and I am afraid of when it decides to completely go out whatever it is. My husband and I have never heard of such a thing.

We had another Olds, an '89 Delta 88, that had a very odd problem of completely shutting down while going down the highway at 65 mph. The mechanic had that one for a week and called me to come get it and told me to never bring it back. He didn't charge but of course the problem didn't get fixed. Never did find out what was wrong with that one.

Does anyone know what the heck this is?????

Check for bad grounds and battery connections first then have the alternator checked for loaded output, this was a common problem for those cars, premature alternator failure.
