What have I done!? 56k bewarenineball481 01-03-2006, 01:59 PM OK, so I have been wanting to do a 6.0L conversion on my truck and other various engine upgrades ect... Well, that is getting ready to take a back seat to my new toy (and more appropriate for performance upgrades) a 2005 GTO. My very own Goat! I know, I know.... This is the silvy forum, but I just had to show you guys... (atleast it is a GM). Anyway here are some pics: http://home.indy.rr.com/imac/GTOfr-ang1.jpg http://home.indy.rr.com/imac/GTOfr-hood.jpg http://home.indy.rr.com/imac/GTOside.jpg http://home.indy.rr.com/imac/GTOwheel-caliper.jpg http://home.indy.rr.com/imac/GTOseats.jpg http://home.indy.rr.com/imac/GTOcluster.jpg http://home.indy.rr.com/imac/GTOrear-ang.jpg I got an absolutely amazing deal on the car. Sticker=$34,000 RedTag=$31,000 GMS=$28,000 Demo=$27,000 (must have 7,500miles to qualify) My price $26,500 plus tax with 1,500miles used. Now, I have no plans to start neglecting my first bought, but I am going to have to go a different way than originally planned. Thanks for looking, and maybe I'll see you on the strip :evillol: jeverett 01-03-2006, 02:20 PM Man, that is so sweet. That is probably the only car I would buy, besides a Mustang or Charger/Challenger. I'm sure you'll love it. Let me know how it performs! The Holden's...err...GTO's are tight as hell. Throw a cam and exhaust on that bad boy. My friends have heard a couple of them around here loping like crazy and said they sound unbelievable. 6-Speed? RWD>FWD ALWAYS! TwentyPints 01-04-2006, 04:00 PM sweet ride man jers99z 01-04-2006, 04:02 PM Nice car, I really like them and i would like to see how one of those run when they are tuned real good. congrats on the purchase! HanibalTheCannibal 01-04-2006, 04:20 PM hmmm.... I am not fond of pontiacs (any of em). I would have put $5K in your 6.0L swap. You have buyers guilt yet? :) LOL Nice car, though! I bet it gets to 60MPH in what, 4-5 secs? BlenderWizard 01-05-2006, 07:52 AM And one Goat to rule them all... jveik 01-05-2006, 10:15 AM lol is that an automatic??? manuals are so fun... if its an auto tho, try a 3000 rpm converter and a lopey cam. im sure the heads are good enuf to not be replaced, just look at what the the ls1 is capable of lol. computers are weird tho, thats y i stick to older cars with carbs, so easy lol nineball481 01-05-2006, 11:07 AM Thanks for the compliments everyone. No buyers guilt, I always feel queezy *sp? after a big purchase regardless of how much I want or need it. LOL It is a 6speed, with a quoted 4.7sec 0-60mph and a 13.1 1/4mile. Although, our track is closed for the season, so I wont be able to get real numbers with me driving until late spring *sigh Best part, no govenor at 140mph (I tested that last night). I believe it does have a govenor at 158mph, but haven't gotten there.... yet nineball481 01-05-2006, 11:15 AM hmmm.... I am not fond of pontiacs (any of em). I would have put $5K in your 6.0L swap. You have buyers guilt yet? :) LOL Nice car, though! I bet it gets to 60MPH in what, 4-5 secs? To each, his own. If it makes a difference, Look at it like a Chevy. THe entire powertrain is Chevrolet (corvette to be exact, though not tuned the same...). It carries the LS2 gen IV 400HP/400ft-lbs torque tremec 6speed tied in to a Dana rear end. In the end I like it. :) Jake Moose is loose 01-06-2006, 08:29 PM Sweet car, but I honestly don't think Pontiac did the GTO justice. It's just not "retro" enough for me. Dodge seems to have nailed the retro look with the Charger/Challenger. Ford also has done a great job on the Mustang. I was pretty excited when I heard the GTO was making a comeback, but IMO, they could have done a much better job NOT making it look like an Acura. Still, congrats and have fun! BlenderWizard 01-06-2006, 10:36 PM Bad thing about retro is that it is hard to come out with a newer body style, once the new "retro" model is not so new. Look at the New Beetle. I think Pontiac did themselves a favor by not going retro on the Goat. Moose is loose 01-07-2006, 01:21 AM Don't get me wrong, they're nice cars, just not unique enough IMO to wear that badge. On a side note, I had a rental 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3 weeks ago, and I have to say, that car wins the award for "most plasticky interior". Not to mention some of the goofy styling. I guess I just never liked the newer Pontiacs fake wings, spoilers, and body side cladding. That car just felt like 3,000 lbs of glued together plastic. These are my opinions, nothing more. I guess living in Germany for 6 years spoiled me on sedans/sports cars. clayton04chevy 01-07-2006, 01:39 AM Yeah definately an awesome buy. My plans with the truck has kinda come to a halt to with the new Camaro. I just wish I had the LS2 to start with instead of the LS1. But it's fast either way.
