tbird damage right before the new year

I parked my car at a club downtown by a meter sorta facing traffic.. (god knows what the hell happened) could of been anything that late. It was obviously a hit & run by a SUV or truck with some speed.
I am not really thinking of bringing it to a body shop and spending $1,000, I am gonna try to bang out the dents, prime & paint it, replace the headlight assembly and probably use a whole hood cover to cover the rest. (If it works hopefully)

The reason for this post is suggestion & advice. I know some of you will feel my pain. :headshake

here are some pics of the damage...

another thing... Does the headlight come seperate with the corner peice? because that is the main thing that needs to fix. Still my tbird will never look the same. R.I.P

i see fenders for birds on Ebay all the time. Instead of trying to bang it out you could maybe check them out and see if the price makes it feasable. Also you can go check out a wrecking yard to see if you can find any usable pieces there. That really sucks though. it was probably a scared little bitch that was gonna get their car taken away by daddy if it got back to him.

i hate when people hit and run. its so typical of todays society, people only thinking of themselves. i hit a parked car once and only scratched it, but i still had the decency to leave a note with my name and number.

but anyway, have you looked into your insurance company?? you may only have to pay a deductible and you can get it to look exactly the way it was. only thing is, if you file a claim your premium may go up.

yeah you might want to check what your insurance would do for you. As I recall when my friend's car got hit when it was parked and he wasnt in it his premium never changed. I dont think the premium would change when you are 100% not at fault (i.e. rear ended or hit while legally parked). Just call them first and see what would happen. If it would go up just dont file a claim and nothing should happen.

I know, I have liability... no collision coverage. If it wasnt a hit and run it would definetly be fixed and no money out of my pocket.
