Hi, Newbie here, Huge Electrical Problem with 95 Geo Tracker. The alternator went bad about 3 weeks ago. I replaced Alternator, and Battery . The replacement alternator was bad, so i replaced it. The tracker seemed to be running fine, later that afternoon on the way home, i lost total power . I tried getting a jump, but it didnt help. Replaced the battery again, ran fine, but once home, couldn't get it to start again, and the battery was dead. I've looked for exposed wires, burned out fuses, but can't find anything.I don't have a clue what else to check on it. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Many times a battery cable will corrode inside the insulation where it can't be seen. Try replacing both the positive and negative cables. Check both ends of the battery cables to make sure they are well connected and tight. Check the connectors going to the alternator, are they good, any broken wires or loose connections? Basically trace all the wiring and connections associated with the charging system. Finally, is the fan belt tight enough to turn the alternator at the proper speed? Good luck.

check the 80 amp fuse from battery to alternator and check that wire maybe not good or maybe starter is no good internally drawing power. also when you hook up the battery and all power is off when you connect battery does it arc or are you drawing power when everything is off.
