My car is starting to go bad.
I had the water pump replace because the car was geeting over heated and the "Check Enginee Soon" light turned on after driving the car for about 3 miles. After changing the water pump everything was normal until i drove the car for about 2 miles and the light turned back on and the car, I stopped the car and I turned back on, the engine was accelerating like crazy, son I had to turned off. After sitting the car for an hour, the car cools off and come back to be normal, until i drive it for about 2 miles...........
My friend is mechanic and say that it may be the Thermostat.

What do you think?

The check engine light indicates that there is a problem in the engine systems like an O2 sensor or EGR valve or etc. Have the car connected to a scanner or find someone to pull the code for you. If the temperature guage is normal it could be a temperature sensor or something simple causing the problem.

should I just replace the thermostat ( around 10 bucks) and see if that fix the problem or pay for a computerized code check that cost around 90 dollars

I went to the mechanic to check for the computer codes and seems to me the mechanic that the computer is not sending the signal to the mechanic system to check the code, the mechanic recomend to replace the computer.
Also, the car overheat because the radiator fan is not working, it could be because the computer is not sending the signal to the fan or that the fan is not working, but i see it working with the A/C, i dont understand what i should do.

the problem now is that after driving the car for a while, the check engine soon light goes off and the car get crazy and overheated and the anifreeze starts boiling.

Do you think there is a wasy to leave the fun always running and the car will be ok?

Any help will be apreciated.
