Dakota R/T truck. AC works but only 1-2 speeds. anything over that and the fan speed stays the same and doesnt increase.

Not sure what part it is I need to find to replace.

any help appreciated.

Blower resistor will need to be replaced. It usually is located up under the dash on the passenger side.

I just re-read your original post, so let me clarify some things. The blower comes on for 1, speeds up for 2, but does not work for settings 3 or 4? And it does this wether it is on A/C or Heat correct?

Anytime your blower will work on a couple of the settings but not others the cause is typically the 'Blower Motor Resistor'. You can pick them up at any Chrysler dealership or auto parts store.

It's a relativly simple DIY repair. Find the resistor which is located up behind the carpet under the dash on the passenger side (sorry, cannot be more specific as I have not had to change one in a Dakota yet). When I replaced the one in my Impala it was around $60 CDN... I'd imagine that Chrysler's would be in the same ballpark price.
