i was reading a recent thread in regards to somebody else having a problem with the air/heat blowing only on the highest setting but he was only answered in regards to his a/c. ....so there has got to be a specific problem a solution, for the reason why the heat/air only works on high is it the blower resistor or the control unit in the dash or what hopefuly somebody could shed some light on this .i would appreciate it.........ive checked the blower resistor but i couldnt tell anything by looking at it and ive checked all the fuses aswell i dont want to waste money buying parts i dont need

I beleve its the resister, thats what is causing it. but test wire to be sure.

chances are the blower resister has failed . It is easy to verify with an ohmeter or test light .

I'm having the same issue with my car and here is what I've found so far:

The blower motor got clogged with stuff that fell out of my (over stuffed) glove box. The motor sounded horrible, I thought the bearings were going out. Got new blower, and pulled the old one to find the paper clogging the cage. Resistor pack is fine, but the added resistance to the blower motor burned the speed select switch in the ventilation cluster. Haven't yet spent the money to replace it, but it's my next step...

I have replaced 2 resistors in my 98 breeze now. Any idea on what would be causing them to go bad?

Where are you getting the replacements from?

I got the parts from my local dodge dealer. There was no charge for the second one as it has a 1 year warr.
