I have hot water going into heater core but cold water in hose coming out. There is no heater control valve in this car. Is there a selonoid or anything that opens the flow of water in and out of the heater core. I also felt the heater pipes where they come into the car. One is really hot(copper pipes) and the other is cold. Im wondering if there is some kind of selonoid or something that opens the flow of hot water into the heater core? Its a 1995 Geo Tracker

Did You change the antifreeze or drain for any reason? I had same problem before and it was air in the system I let it run through the thermostat opening a few times with cap off and topped it off till full. Maybe or maybe not just thought might help.

Are all the control cables hooked to their various connections? Are all of them sliding freely?

If your not leaking coolant into the cabin area its just an air bubble.

The heater core is just like a mini radiator, sometimes these also plug up. Im guessing that may be your problem.

I have a 91 Tracker. with no heat at all. i have flushed the heater core and it has good flow. Both pipes going in and out are hot. I have replaced two thermostats. Back flushed the entire system for 10 minutes. I even took the thermostat out and filled the system from there. I had radiator cap off but didn't fill the radiator up. I let the engine run while filling thru the thermostat housing. once it was full there I put thermostat back in and filled radiator. The temp control cable was off and I reinstalled it. The other control cable is bent so I operated the controls from under the dash. Air will change from floor to dash but no matter what i do i have no heat??????????/

How does the temp control work? I can raise it and lower it but it seems like there is a rod that runs across to the passenger side from the temp control flap??????????????

Is it still air in the system or am I missing something. There is no a/c on this vehicle.
