Alright so my daytime running light is out. So other then just change both of them, i want to change the headlights,both daytime running light,and highbeams(?). So what is the best bulb out there ? is it silverstar bulbs ? If so what fits my truck , silverado ext cab, 2002. Would it be in my owners manual ? How long do you think it will take ? ALso what is the best place that sells them for cheap ? Ebay ?

Get the Silverstars. Had them for a year or so and unbelieveable difference. I dont really notice anymore, but when i first put them in it was night and day.

don't know if they are the best but they are bright. xenon-kypton 55w from eurodezigns.com i got them at the car show last year $25 for all four online price is twice that. 4 weeks to car show time though.

for the DRL i use the "Orange" ones, they look amazing, and really stand out. As for the headlights, i use Nighthawks, They made night and day difference when i put them in. Really noticeable.

Never said they were the best, just said they worked great for me.

And DRL's are 3157 not 3057 :)

Another question, When i get the bulbs, would they run hotter then the normal bulb and mess up the casing/holder ?

i heard ifu get brighter more powerful bulbs they burn out your light switch is that true

As many people have switched the headlights out to projectors and bigger watt bulbs I have yet to see a switch burn out due to power overload. I have seen switches go out but not for overload. That is why Chevy has a relay, keeps the higher power on one side of the relay and low controlled power on the cab side as I understand it.

Anyone have any experience with these new xenon bulbs (non HID)? There are several brands I have found through some internet searches. Toucan makes a par for around $30. Then, I also found a couple of high dollar Japanese brands (Polarg, Raybrig) that have pairs for around $100.

I'm currently running Silverstars in both my hi and lo beams and they do in fact make a night and day difference over OEM. Then I heard about these new xenon lights and would order them in an instant if I knew that they make an improvement over my Silverstars.

I don't know if they'll "light up" brighter than the Silverstars, but I can tell you they'll more than likely burn out three times as fast!!! The Zenon's I have now are good, but I had to replace the bulbs twice the first year I used them, though the current set have been in there a year and a half now and doing well.
