Thanks Muff Muff, i drive an 04. Its just like the SE but mine is a 5 speed rather than an automatic, and its the 2.2 Ecotec 4 cylinder. I love this car. It handles well, has nice pickup, and the seats are damn comfortable. I have about 23k (miles) on mine and have had 0 problems. Its a fun car to drive. Hopefully this helps. Later Bobby jem270 01-01-2006, 01:31 AM I have a 02 SE 4 door with the 3.4 engine. I bought it new and it now has about 35,000 miles. The only thing I have done is change engine oil and filter, and the air filter, and put one battery in it. It has been a great car so far. I have used mobile 1 from the start. Oh, and I do baby it. Still has the origional tires too. Tomorrow I may give you a different answer though. nova_gh 01-01-2006, 11:00 AM My 99 GA SE (more or less the same thing as a 02) has had little problems, running at I think 120K+ now i've only had to change the tires once at like 75K (BFGoodrich Touring T/As), had to replace the front passenger wheel bearing, had to replace the ignition lock cylinder (common security problem in 99-01), and regular oil and filter changes. And spark plugs just because I felt like it :). Body wise it couldn't live in a tougher environment in Iowa, the summer time is hot and humid, the winter time is freezing and dry. Its only got a couple small rust bubbles that I'll need to have fixed, maybe. The paint has been pretty well beat up on the bumper, following to close to semi's kicking up sand in the winter time. I've got to replace the windsheild as it developed a huge crack in it some how, no impact that I can find. If I ever trade it in, it'll be for another grand am thats for sure, besides preventative maintenance (oil, filters) I don't think I've yet spent over $1k in it. Not to bad I don't think. xeroinfinity 01-01-2006, 05:41 PM I'd say they are pretty damn good daily driving cars. I've had the typical troubles, but I dont baby it much. Looks as good in/out as the day I bought it used around 56k, now I hav 128k and it still drives like new. Do a Kellybluebook.com searach they'll give you an Idea what ones worth in your area. I wouldnt pay more than 6-7k$, and thats prob what KBB has it listd as. Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
