97 Venture sliding door and power seatGeorge Kovac 12-29-2005, 11:18 PM The driver side power seat and passenger side power sliding door quit working in my wife's 97 extended Venture van. I don't know if they quit at the same time as my wife is generally the only one that drives it therefore the power seat could have quit a long time ago. There is a clicking noise at door motor when the switch is depressed. The fuses in the fuse block both inside and outside are good. I swapped the door relay with another and also went through the reset procedure to no avail. Tech II tool revealed no codes. Help please! Update...I have 6.5 volts at the orange wire at both the door and the seat. Anyone out there? Thanks, George rkehler 01-05-2006, 12:47 PM I have a 99' Venture and I have a similar problem with the sliding door. However, the drivers side power seat seems to work great, so I don't believe that they are related in anyway. The problem we initially had with the sliding door is that it would not "sense" that it was closed and it would re-open by itself immediately after going closed. We tried to help it by pushing on the door as it was closing to help it close better. We only had marginal results from this. Then we received the Safety recall notice on the door opening at random. We thought that this might fix the problems we were having also, but it didn't. Now the handles are chaged and it is even more difficult to close the doors manually. We had the dealership look at the door and try to fix it, but they told us that some control module of some sort in the door needed to be replaced. We asked how much and they said the total bill would be about $1000. So we told them not to worry about it. However, now that we have it back the problem has escallated into it not working at all. And even worse than that apparently they did something else to the door that has made it even more difficult to open manually than before. Anyway, I am trying to find anyone who has either had this same problem and fixed it and can tell me how to do this or someone who may at least know what and where this "control module" is at, and where I can get it at a reasonable price. Sorry for not helping your situation much, but your not alone. In 2002, quote for control module $228, labor $144. I am still in manual mode, but will search ebay for module at cheaper price. Has the recalls on this door done as well. I believe that the PS seat nearest this panel will need to come off to replace it. kdmx 07-21-2006, 03:48 PM There is a procedure that will make your power sliding door work. It involves turning the ignition on and off and removing a certain fuse. I found it on this forum and it worked! But then I lost the paper....... Now my door stopped working when the battery went dead and I need the procedure again. cjstew4 07-21-2006, 03:52 PM Thanks. Please forward it when you find it and I will check to see if it is different than the two different resetting processes I used. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
