Hi there,...

I got pretty much unusual problem with my E350...
While I drive; especially, on the highway I get sometime few kicks ( like something being clogged,or just bit of watter, dirt from fuel goes into fuel injector having vehicle to kiks a bit.... I don't now)...
This has been happening recently, and every time when I had those kicks I got Service Engine Soon light on. When I shut off the engine and turn it on again light is off, just disappear, although keeps bothering me all the time....
I went for computer check, and technicians didn't find a single infomation what might've been a problem....
I'm pretty much sure then when you get check engine light on computer should find code which causing light to be lit, but in my case none.......
I thought fuel filter had to be replaced, so I put the new one.... Still the same....

Now I'm assuming that either transmission or computer box could cause these problems, but I cannot be certain......
I don't now what to do....

Any suggestions.......

Thanks in advance......

Well there are two rather common causes for intermittant power loss as you describe.

The MOST common (and cheapest) cuase is a failing cam sensor. It is the ONLY sensor that the PCM (computer) has to determine when to inject fuel. If it goes bad, the engine misfires and/or quits. It is EASY to replace from under the vehicle (under 5 min).

The next most common cause applies only to vans like yours, it is the IDM (Injector Drive Module). The run-off from the windshield drips directly onto the top of the IDM which is mounted below the LH hood hinge and behind the coolant reservoir. When they get contaminated with windshield wash or even just water, they fail. Often they will studder for a while before they fail completely. This *may* be what you are describing.

I would simply replace the Cam Sensor and pray. The IDM is well over $1000.

Well, first of all thanks for the reply.....

I knew that would't hit me anything good. What do I say, life goes on...
I was assuming that transmission was a major problem due the fact that last night I drove through the city up to hill, had few kicks causing check engine light coming on, and when I hit 65 km/h the speed just stopped there..
I couldn't go faster even though I kept pressing gas pedal; however, when I begin rolling on the leveled ground it started picking up like it was before...

Ok, I'll replace Cam sensor and pray.....or may be I should get Dodge Sprinter( Mercedez-Benz)... I'll see wihich of these two is the cheapest way to go....Nice joke,a....

Anyway, I really appreciate your help.....
All the best in a New Year....
