1995 Rear Defrost

What will likely be facile for you is stumping me. My rear defrost is not working, I have checked the fuses they look okay. If related (I do not know) my rear window is extremely sluggish to the point of almost stopping on the way up. If it helps, this started when I had my starter replaced, which reset my stereo settings as well. Laugh if you will, but save me the cost of going to a Japanese dealership (again). Thanks very much.
