1994 Camry steering wheel vibrates

I have a 1994 Camry with a steering wheel vibration problem. The steering wheel vibrates a lot when stopped and when the engine is warm. It does not vibrate any other time or in any other gear. It does not vibrate when the engine is cold.

The motor mounts were replaced last week and that fixed some other problems, but not this one. I had the 2 front tires replaced and an alignment done last week. Brakes were checked and they are fine. No CV problems either. Checked the idle it is fine.

Has anyone else had this problem with their Camry? Is this a normal problem with Camrys when they get some age on them? Is this a safety or mechanical concern or should I just ignore it?

Other than this problem, the car runs perfectly.

If you have had a problem like this with your Camry and got it fixed, please let me know what to do.

Thanks in advance.

You said it viabrates when it is warm. Than you said it does not viabrate when it is warm.
Could you clarify this.

When was the last tune-up, has the check engine light come on at all?

The check engine light has never come on since I have owned the car (about 8 months). Also, a tune up was done in the spring of 2005 by the previous owner. The car has only been drive about 5,000 miles since then. My mechanic cannot find the problem and says it could be because of spacing in the engine and the age of the car. My biggest concern is could this problem lead to larger mechanical problems or safety issues. This problem has been ongoing since I bought the car, but I have owned other Camrys and never experience this. Any help is appreciated.

If this is a 4 cylinder (5SFE engine) and the shaking isn't too bad, it sounds normal to me. I have had my 94 since new and it has always done this. Complained to the dealer about it at that time and he had me drive another 94; it did the same thing. There is no idle adjustment. It is all controled by the computer. Cleaning the throttle body and running some fuel injector cleaner through it (Chevron has received good reviews) may help just a bit.
