1995 Voyager 3.0L, 99K miles: knocking noise from AC Compressor Clutch after warm up during idle. The noise dissipates then disappears after 1K rpm, reappears at idle. When clutch is engaged, AC on, noise disappears at idle and above. After engagement, AC switched off, noise is intermittent.
I replaced the v-belt 6 months ago while I was troubleshooting a serpentine belt squeak. I noticed the knocking prior to replacement, but prioritized the possibility of loosing spark over AC comfort.
I'll replace the clutch should it go out, but if there's a quick remedy or issue I'm missing I'd appreciate feedback.

It was a loose AC idler pulley. I tightened the bolt on the pulley and the knocking stopped.
