Catalytic Converter - Aftermarket Opinions biv343 12-28-2005, 11:34 AM
The guts in my catalytic converter started rattling the other day. Hoped it was a heat shield, but it's not.... Anyways, since I have to replace it anyway, does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement that might be more "free flowing"? Found one at Autozone that is listed as "direct fit" for $166. I'm half tempted to put a new cat back exhaust on at the same time, since the muffler and pipes are starting to get a little weak looking in spots. I'd like to stick with a cat that will bolt right in as opposed to having to fiddle around with adapters, etc. Vehicle is a 99 Bravada. Figured there is more activity in this forum than the Bravada forum. Any opinions are appreciated. s10blazerman4x4 12-28-2005, 01:25 PM I got a universal cat off ebay for 36.99.It was the hi flow variety. http://stores.ebay.com/Performance-Curve_Eastern-Converters_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQftidZ2QQtZkm link to the store. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7947884339&category=33629 Theres a link to the one i got.Check out his store. The ones i got were made for an engine up to a 5.7.That one was OBD 2 compliant as well even though im Obd 1.
