I need to know how to read the dianostic code(s) on a 94 Park Ave. I have a scanner for OBDII but when I plug it into the diag port on the PA, I can't get a reading on my scanner. Is this car using an OBDI system? How do I get those codes!?:screwy:

Yeah, it's an OBDI hybrid that an OBDII scanner won't read.

A highline scanner such as an Snap on mt2500 will work on that year.

you'll have to shop around to find an OBD I scanner that comes with the pigtail to connect to an OBD II style ALDL connector.

Can't 94' be read simply by jumping the A and B ports together? Or did the diag connection change this year even though it's still an OBD 1?

It has an OBD II type \===/ connector. Jumping only does funky things with the BCM.

Oh yea, that's right, jumping only works up to 93' models....[/QUOTE]
