Project: 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.8L 215hp.

I am currently in the process of supercharging a mini with a Eaton M90 supercharger. The goal is to hit the 300hp mark. This should be attainable as it is a 40% increase running 8 psi. We are gathering the parts neccesary for the install. Any input would be appreciated, help and other ideas. Has anyone attempted this before???

The Transmission is rated 250hp - 250ft lbs torque from the factory. You can build them to take about 400hp.
At 300hp the trans won't hold up very long.
The bottom end of the 3.3l/3.8l is not very strong. That is why these engines have never come with a manual transmission. The crank can't stand up to the clutch being dropped or "power shifting". It will be interesting to see how your project turns out. As long as you don't try for too much Torque/HP it should run for a while.

Another reason they didnt come with manual transmissions is because it is a family vehicle not a race car. This project vehicle will be a good test on the 41TE. We will see what it can handle.

Interesting thread...
My wife drives our 2002 Town Country, so I won't mess with it, but I have a 99 Venture, and have thought of possibility of conversion to manual, w/ perhaps a few more HP. Is that doable? manual conversion? say, from another gm family vehicle with same engine and manual trans?

The older dodge and plymouth minivans around 89-91 came with 2.5L turbocharged engines and 5 speed transmissons stock. I dont know of anyone that has done a automatic to a manual conversion in a newer van. It may be possible but you need to look into it. Either way there would be much custom fabbed work but if you are mechanically inclined that might not be a problem. Good luck and keep us posted if you find out anything.
