Hi I have a 98 G.C. LE with a 3.8 . My problem is when i turn on the heat for the first time of the day I notice a smell of burning firewood. After it runs for a min. it goes away. There is no sign of any kind of smoke coming form the vents, just the smell of burning wood. Can anyone help? Happy Holidays to all.

Do you have all blower speeds working ? The only thing I can think of is the blower resistor may be starting to go . I had to replace mine and ever since when first turned on you almost a scorching smell which goes away after a couple minutes.

Yes all of the fan speeds are working , I will keep that in mind if the speed controls start to fail. I wonder if over night the blower resistor could be building up water and freezing over and in the morning when first turned on the fan the resistor heats up burning off the water causing the smell? All this started when it started to get cold out(below 33 degrees).

Could be leaves in the blower. I had that once.
