1997 chev tahoe , hard startmtwig 12-26-2005, 08:09 PM I have a 1997 chev. Tahoe 5.7. It has to be cranked 3 to 4 times before it starts most of the time other times, it will start just fine. I did replace the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor befor this started happening. Also the weather has changed from mild to cold, but not real cold since the tune up. I have heard of a possiable pressure leak in the fule system??? Any one have any suggestions? 95tahoe4x4 12-27-2005, 01:35 AM PCV valve? Fuel Filter? Air Filter? were these replaced as well? The Fuel Filter should be done every year. How long do you crank? 3-5 seconds? I turn the key on for 2-3 seconds, then crank, it fires much quicker. This seems to give the fuel pressure time to build. Kt GMMerlin 12-27-2005, 05:46 AM Could be a couple things causing this. Fuel pump check valve allowing fuel pressure to bleed back Leaking fuel pressure regulator Lean injector poppets vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
