Z06 rims wont fit my 97 Z28....HELP!!! Troy's_97_Z28_30th 12-26-2005, 11:01 AM
Can anyone please help me? I have some stock 2000 Z06 rims and they rub on the axle snuffer when i install them on my 97 Z28. The rear rims are 18x10.5 and i have always heard this is a easy swap over for these cars. I used a spacer and that didnt help i have the style of lug nuts that sink into the spacer for a better bite on the threads of the stud....Thanks a lot to anyone who can help..... bag91 12-27-2005, 01:13 AM Can anyone please help me? Only the front, back or all fours? Matt365 12-27-2005, 01:50 AM 18'sx10.5 will not fit in the front no matter how hard u try. to tfit them on the back u need low profile tires, and pressure needs to be applied to the rear axle when putting them on for the rims to fit. bag91 12-27-2005, 01:53 AM Yea if he meant 10.5 in front...that be crazy!!!!!!! Matt365 12-27-2005, 01:55 AM 17 and 9.5's about to go on the fronts on mine. bag91 12-27-2005, 01:59 AM Sounds right...even the stock SS had 9.5's on all 4's. Getting 11's in the back? Troy's_97_Z28_30th 12-27-2005, 07:19 AM yes, I meant the 18's in the rear, they touch the snubber when i put them on, the 17's in the front seem to work fine. There is no offset on these rims they are not replica's. I cut the snubber of my 95 camaro and dont want to mess up the suspension on this one. bag91 12-27-2005, 03:19 PM 18's are pretty big...... CamarosRsweet94 12-27-2005, 04:10 PM They don't fit because the car isn't made for them... bag91 12-27-2005, 04:12 PM The camaro's/ Corvette wheels fit each other....so they actually do. Same offset Troy's_97_Z28_30th 12-27-2005, 08:04 PM Thanks alot all, i got them on with no problems. The rubbing was only when i had the rear end off the ground, when i dropped the jack everything fell into place perfectly. I will try to post pics later!
