what are the advantages of a welded diff, i know that one is its cheaper than buying a posi rear end, and you have full lock all ttime, i know that the downside is that you might break axles, not while racing or driving hard or anything, but when makin a u turn in a parking lot or everyday driving.

what are the steps in welding your diff. !?

welded ones keep it locked which makes turning in rain/snow horrible....i had it done to the iroc i had and it really freaking sucked...i can really see no advantages imo

i was looking at mods that i could do so i can drift my car. but i think ill only do that if i had 2 cars, i dunno if sounds smart to do to my daily driver.

i wouldnt do it to your daily driver. the inside tire will always skip and hop and scuff and cause you problems on turns. i would recommend a gear locker assembly for your daily driver. it locks the diff going straight and unlocks so you can turn. or you can get a minispool which locks the diff permanently but is easily removed if you want to go back to your open diff.

if u race a whole lot then locking it would be a positive is u spin tires alot. we did it to my grandfathers truck so he wont get stuck in his field and it works great till u take off in wet weather then u end up going sideways down the road till the tire hook up but id say do it if u race alot

Get a Mini Spool will be cheaper and easer to install. This should be the right one for your car:

It only takes about 30 minutes install or remove so you can take it out when you don’t need it and it will make fixing your car a lot easer if you do brake an axle.

Also I have to ask do you have a welder or someone that’s going to weld it for you for free? Because if your planing to pay someone to weld your diff if would probably be cheaper to buy a Mini Spool.

A Mini Spool will give you full-lock just like a welded diff without all the downsides and work.

The only reason I would weld the diff of a car is if I was going to run it in a demolition derby.
